For the safest products in your packs
The SORTEX E is an exciting new development for the packing line. By combining enhanced InGaAs technology, bichromatic cameras and shape recognition it is uniquely capable of ensuring the safety of your product. Enhanced InGaAs cameras have been designed for stable operation in a packing room. The high detection efficiency of this new technology provides clean and safe product with the maximum yield.
Introducing enhanced InGaAs* technology
InGaAs technology cameras were originally used by the space and defence industries. Buhler Sortex use them because vegetables reflect very little energy at certain Short Wave Infrared (SWIR) wavelengths. Typical packaging materials such as wood, plastics and cardboard reflect a lot of energy, which is easily detected by the InGaAs cameras. There is excellent detection of pale wood, cardboard and other packaging materials even in mixes containing potatoes and carrots. InGaAs cameras detect these packing materials even in very complex mixes with very little yield loss. The new enhanced InGaAs technology option allows even better detection of a wider range of Foreign Material (FM), including insects, stones and cigarette filters allowing one mode to be used for the majority of products.
