FORTRESS MULTI LANE METAL DETECTION SYSTEM

Dynamic Inspection recently supplied a four lane metal detection system for inspecting frozen meat patties to an Australian manufacturer. The patties are randomly presented to the detector where they are separated into 4 lanes which travel though a single search head. The Fortress search head is comprised of four separate apertures with a single patty being inspected by each one. The main advantage of this approach is that there is only minimal widening of the conveyor belt to accommodate a single search head as opposed to installing four individual metal detectors. All four heads are controlled from the one control panel which streamlines operator access. Individual patties are inspected and rejected via a raise flap reject system into a reject bin.

The Fortress detector establishes a new Industry Standard and is capable of detecting down to 0.3mm ferrous, 0.4mm non ferrous and 0.5mm stainless steel.
